The TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) has updated its guidance on advertising cosmetic injectables, restricting the use of terms like “anti-wrinkle injections” and “dermal fillers” in advertisements. This is because most cosmetic injectables contain prescription-only substances, and advertising the use or supply of such substances to the public is prohibited.
At Canberra Plastic Surgery, we believe in individualised treatment plans that help our patients achieve their aesthetic goals. On your first visit to Canberra Plastic Surgery, one of our registered nurses will take you through a comprehensive consultation to get to know you and your aesthetic goals and design a treatment plan that best serves you and your skin.
Your first consultation will be with one of our experienced registered nurses.
At Canberra Plastic Surgery, we believe in truly personalised care. Your aesthetic journey begins with a comprehensive, one-on-one consultation designed to understand your skin, your goals, and the results you’d like to achieve.
During your first visit, one of our experienced registered nurses will perform an in-depth skin assessment using the SkinCeuticals SkinScope device. This advanced diagnostic tool reveals underlying skin concerns—such as sun damage, dehydration, pigmentation, and congestion—that are not always visible to the naked eye. By identifying these concerns early, we can design a treatment plan that is accurate, targeted, and tailored specifically to you.
Our positive ageing treatments focus on enhancing your natural features while addressing changes such as volume loss and fine lines that occur over time.
Facial aging involves changes in the skin, muscles, and underlying bone structure over time. As we age, the skin loses collagen and elastin, leading to wrinkles, sagging, and a thinner appearance. Fat distribution shifts, causing a loss of volume in the cheeks and temples, and may result in a hollowed or sunken look. The muscles of the face also weaken, contributing to the formation of deeper lines, particularly around the eyes, mouth, and forehead. Bone resorption in the jaw and cheeks can affect facial contour. These changes are influenced by genetics, sun exposure, lifestyle, and environmental factors.
Our consultations are designed to be informative and educational so that you can make informed decisions about your skin and your treatment journey. We encourage you to think about your options and the information presented to you. There will be no pressure to treat or book on the day.
The cost of the consultation is $100, which can be fully redeemed towards prescription-grade skincare or any treatment recommended for you—providing exceptional value as you begin your customised treatment journey.
This depends on your individual treatment plan, the degree of ageing, and your individual aesthetic goals. Typically, we treat fine lines and wrinkles every 3-6 months to maintain results, skin laxity concerns once per month for three months and then every 6-9 months, and concerns of volume loss every 9-24 months.
