The TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) has updated its guidance on advertising cosmetic injectables, restricting the use of terms like “anti-wrinkle injections” and “dermal fillers” in advertisements. This is because most cosmetic injectables contain prescription-only substances, and advertising the use or supply of such substances to the public is prohibited.

At Canberra Plastic Surgery, we believe in individualized treatment plans and offer personalized consultations and treatment plans to enhance your natural features. Positive ageing treatments will address concerns of volume loss and wrinkles due to changes in facial anatomy over time. Facial aging involves changes in the skin, muscles, and underlying bone structure over time. As we age, the skin loses collagen and elastin, leading to wrinkles, sagging, and a thinner appearance. Fat distribution shifts, causing a loss of volume in the cheeks and temples, and may result in a hollowed or sunken look. The muscles of the face also weaken, contributing to the formation of deeper lines, particularly around the eyes, mouth, and forehead. Bone resorption in the jaw and cheeks can affect facial contour. These changes are influenced by genetics, sun exposure, lifestyle, and environmental factors.
Our consultations are designed to be informative and educational so that you can make informed decisions about your skin and your treatment journey. We encourage you to think about your options and the information presented to you. There will be no pressure to treat or book on the day.
Our consultations are complimentary and there is no pressure or expectation that you will proceed with treatment. During your consultation, we will discuss the costs associated with your treatment plan so that you can make informed financial decisions. Treatment costs vary depending on the treatment modality, product selection, individual anatomy, and degree of ageing.
This depends on your individual treatment plan, the degree of ageing, and your individual aesthetic goals. Typically, we treat fine lines and wrinkles every 3-6 months to maintain results, skin laxity concerns once per month for three months and then every 6-9 months, and concerns of volume loss every 9-24 months.
